Orcas is home to a remarkable number of nonprofits, over 110 at this writing. Following the national average per capita, a community of our size (approximately 5000) would have closer to 20.
The abundance of the nonprofits and the strength of their services speak to the unique quality of life in the islands. People here care about the quality of life for the present inhabitants and for the generations to come and we show our passion by giving time and resources to make our community a great place for all ages.
The Orcas Island Community Foundation serves as a bridge for organizations and individuals to connect with each other through their non-profit directory.
